OBSTACLES

STAR WARS
EPISODE 1: INVASION OF THE CLONES
PART 23
(6/6/12 Featuring: Anakin, Kenobi, Olie, Sabe, Shaak Ti, Vos)

PROLOGUE.

Anakin investigating at one of the Tantive computer consoles, still hears the phantasmal dark chanting.

Valorum appears and introduces himself to Anakin.

SCENE 1.

A proximity alert brings Vos and Olie, then the rest, to the bridge. The Tantive IV has dropped out of hyperspace due to an obstacle on the route: it’s the Republic Dreadnaught Apex, disabled by the Ventress broadcast.

Sensors show the crew, all 16,000 aboard, dead.

Vos sends Olie and Anakin over to retrieve the Apex’ blackbox and activate the derelict’s self-destruct.

Brief tension sparks between Kenobi and Valorum on the bridge.

Olie and Anakin fly over, wade through the floating corpses onboard, set the Apex to explode, and escape with weapons and a new starfighter.

The Tantive makes all due haste for Naboo.

SCENE 2.

Shaak Ti, prowling the ship, senses that she’s being followed, but there’s no one there.

Back in the cargo bay, Shaak Ti finds an abandoned toy and ‘plays’ with the unseen presence.

SCENE 3.

Sabe pays Padme a visit in the medical bay and gets more details regarding Naboo’s plight.

Colonies have been suffering communications blackouts followed by strange behavior.

Padme’s home colony, Theed, discovered a strange device before sending her off to bring help.

SCENE 4.

The Tantive arrives in Naboo’s sector and is immediately hailed by an approaching pirate ship, the Blackwing.

Once the Blackwing’s captain Watto recognizes Vos, he demands Vos surrender.

The Tantive and Blackwing dock; when Vos refuses to come alone, the pirates break off as a second Blackwing ship appears and attacks.

Shaak Ti mans the ship guns while Anakin, Kenobi, and Olie takes the starfighters and engage the Blackwings.

Vos commands the Tantive to take evasive maneuvers while Sabe verbally spars with Watto, rightly guessing that he’s working for the Mandalorians.

Before the two Blackwings can combine into a single, more powerful ship, Olie manages to destroy them both.

The Tantive resumes course of Naboo.

EPILOGUE.

Shaak Ti, en route to the bridge, finds Valorum stuck beneath cargo crates and damaged.
